Two-lane highway bridge

PROBLEM

A two-lane highway bridge in Forest Glen exhibited the following issues in need of repair:

• Damaged bridge pier
• Spalled concrete on spandrel walls
• Spalled concrete at guardrail post base in top of spandrel wall

SOLUTION

Takao Nagai Concrete Restoration provided the following services to repair the damage:

• Repaired the damaged areas of the bridge by casting a new column core and replacing the pre-cast sections.  The patching concrete was made to match the surrounding areas.  
• Removed the guardrail embedment and patched it to match the surrounding, creating a seamless effect
